Our common exception word flashcards (Year 2) are part of our Key stage 1 Educational resources collection. Common exception words are words that don't follow a spelling rule and can't be sounded out. Therefore they need to be learnt by sight. At the end of Key Stage 1 children will be expected to read and spell all of these words.
There are 64 words in the Year 2 set. You can purchase them separately or together with the Year 1 words for a discounted price.
We have chosen to print our Year 2 Common Exception words flashcards on Eco-Kraft card so that the print is easily visible and the children aren’t distracted by bright colours. This is particularly helpful for children with additional learning needs.
