Part of our Montessori inspired educational learning resource collection is our large wooden hexagonal alphabet tiles. These tiles are an ideal resource for early years learning from starting with introducing the letters of the alphabet to moving on to building words. We have designed our alphabet tiles in a hexagon shape to introduce an additional learning aspect as your child can connect the tiles together in different patterns. They are a good size and are large and chunky for children to get hold of and work with.
The opportunities for learning with our wooden alphabet tiles are endless. The wooden grooves of each letter allow your child to trace the letter and become familiar with not only the letter name but how to form the letter also. They can be filled with different sensory resources like play dough or seeds, used for crayon rubbings and can be free standing to create and build simple CVC words.
A set includes 26 letters from A-Z. Each double sided alphabet tile has the lowercase letter on one side and the uppercase letter on the other. Each set comes with a wooden tracing stick which your child can use to trace each letter and develop their pencil grip. You can also order our vowel set to allow you more word building options.
Font options
We now have a choice of two fonts; our standard font and our new school font. Our school font has the flicks on the ends of letters like 'l' 'i' 't' and is more inline with school teaching.
Handmade
Our alphabet tiles are made from solid beech wood and finished with a natural raw oil. The wooden tracing stick is made from beech dowel and is designed to be similar to that of a pencil to help your child develop their pencil grip.
Our products are all CE tested and UKCA tested.
