Our Key stage 1 Common exception word flashcards (Year 1) have the complete set of Year 1 words that don't follow a spelling rule and can't be sounded out. Therefore the common exception words need to be learnt by sight. At the end of Key Stage 1 children will be expected to read and spell all of these words.

We have chosen to print the flashcards on Eco-Kraft card so that the print is easily visible and the children aren’t distracted by bright colours. This is particularly helpful for children with additional learning needs.
