Our two part sand writing tray is a fantastic learning resource to support children with their writing, reading, spelling and numbers. It is a versatile resource which can be used in many ways to help support writing skills and even early maths skills.
There are so many opportunities for learning with our two part sand writing tray. It can be used for forming numbers or shapes and great for practicing pre-writing lines. The slot at the top of the tray fits A6 flashcards perfectly and can be used with our range of flashcards which can be found in our learning resource section. The two part sand writing tray can be used as "read, make, write" tool where children can practice forming individual letters, numbers and words, by first reading the flashcard in the stand, making the letter in one tray and writing it in the other tray.
You can use the two part tray to find different ways of making a given number. It's a great way to help children understand number facts and number bonds.
Using sand is a tactile and sensory way to help children become confident with forming letters and numbers. They can use their finger or the writing stick to make marks in the sand which can be easily wiped away. This encourages them to practice and not worry about making mistakes.
